Get the Most out of a Pose {Newborn Photography}

I recently had the {sweetest} newborn girl in the studio for somewhat of a mini-session. She was born with a brachial plexus injury and fearing she couldn’t be posed for some of the more complex poses often seen in newborn photography due to nerve damage in her right arm, her mama wasn’t convinced her little Mallory was ready for a full session.  Instead they were invited over to capture some sweet images with mom & dad (see them here!) and we were able to lay her on her side for some simple beanbag shots as well.  The photos below show only a sampling of the variety that can be captured without moving baby at all.  Okay, maybe some piggies were rearranged at one point. 😉 More macro images could be included of those itty bitty baby parts (profile, lips, etc) as well.

newborn photography posingIt is so very important as newborn photographers to put safety above all else and the well-being of that precious life you are capturing. Know the precautions of working with babies with various conditions but in many cases, it doesn’t have to stop you from providing the family with amazing heirloom photos of their little miracle!

Scheduling your newborn photography session is recommended while you are still pregnant!  This ensures that I have availability on my schedule around your due date and gives you one less thing to do as you adjust to life with your new baby.  Explore investment information or contact me via the tab at the top to book your session today!
